These animals have a unique pattern of black stripes on an orange-brown coat and skin. White, red, albino, black and stripeless individuals are very rare. This species is the second largest of the cat family; mature males reach up to 3 meters at length (with tail) and up to 230 kg at weight. Although these felines are more numerous than the other four subspecies, they are endangered too. There were around 40,000 species at the beginning of the 20th century, and now there are less than 5,000, and many of them continue to fall victims of illegal trade and poaching.

Pictures Of A Bengal Tiger -
baby, hunting
These animals are found in Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Burma. They occupy various habitats, such as tropical jungles, brush, marsh lands, swamps, and tall grasslands. In the wild, they live not more than 15 years. Captive species can live more that 20 years, because they enjoy a more regular diet. However, they are less accustomed to natural habitat and are less likely to survive in the wild. Reserves that create favorable conditions for wild animals can be helpful in getting captive animals accustomed to where they actually come from.
