Information On The Bengal Tiger

Information on the bengal tiger and pictures are available from some websites; you won't see them at most farms. These wild cats have large eyes with first rate vision. They are nocturnal animals and can see in the dark. Their ear flaps are well developed and hearing is excellent as well. They have strong, powerful jaws with large sharp teeth. Their paws are heavily padded. They are good hunters, although hunting does not always come easy to them. They usually attack large and medium-sized game, such as deer, buffalo, swine, antelopes, gaur, monkeys and even small elephants. When large game is not available or hunting is unsuccessful, they feed on smaller game, like birds, lizards, frogs, snakes and even small crocodiles. They rarely climb trees, but are great swimmers. The length of the body of these wild cats ranges from 5 to 9 feet. Their weight is 350-550 pounds. Their coat is short and thick, bright fawn to reddish tan, shading to white underneath. There are rugged black stripes on their coat. There are some individuals with white fur and dark stripes, but they are rare in the wild. White species can be seen in several zoos. Although they have white coats, they are not albinos, as long as they have dark stripes and blue eyes. They grow faster and larger than orange species. In the wild, white kittens only occur once per every 10,000 births. Information on the bengal tiger and pictures are available from some websites; you won't see them at most farms.
