The body of this species should be broad with slender legs; the head is broad. The fur should be very fine in texture, which makes the pelt very valuable. At the rate it is going, we may lose this unique animal in about 20 years.

These animals are very beautiful and powerful. The base coat color is orange or tawny with brown or black stripes. The stomach, mouth, eyebrows and cheeks should be white. The weight of these animals is up to 575 pounds, but they are not the biggest species of the felines. They live in mangrove swamps, dense woods and rocky areas of Southeast Asia, and are mostly concentrated in sanctuaries and reserves of India, Bangladesh, Burma and Nepal.
