Indian Tigers are the second largest felines on earth. They have an orange coat with dark stripes, which camouflage them in the wild. These animals are predators, and they hunt deer, antelopes, buffalo, young elephants, and also smaller game, like birds, snakes, lizards and even small crocodiles. Unlike other felines, they like water and are good swimmers. They cannot run for a long time, and hence rely on ambush tactics when hunting. These felids prefer to hunt at dusk or at dawn, and spend 18 hours each day sleeping.
